J's room decor....

Well the cardmaking has gone on hold this week as I have been sorting decor for baby Jennifers room....still lots to do but here's the first project completed and ready to go up on the wall.

I  picked up this fab frame at Ikea for a bargain £8....it is huge! You might be able to make out the bottom of a chair which the frame is resting on so you can tell how big it is! I cut the letters out using my winnie the pooh cricut alphabet cartridge. I faux stitched around the letters in grey pen. I then took my tatty teddy stamps and stamped the image at the bottom and coloured with promarkers. I then stamped lots of butterflies, coloured with limited edition promarkers and then covered in stickles...... below is a close up.

A good little project and much cheaper than buying a personalised name in the shops!!

DT Challenge - Papermill direct

Well you've got to be in it to win it so I thought I might as well have a go! The challenge is Autumn and this is what I came up with!

I managed to use some papermill card as well which I recently acquired, the Kraft card and the dark brown as well as dark blue. Love the Kraft Card.

I also used this as an excuse to play with my cameo. So I had a lovely nose around the online store for the sentiment (cut on vinyl) and the leaves. The decorative corner at the bottom of the easel is also from the online store!

Here's a bit more detail.............

Thanks for looking and happy crafting! x

New Craft room :-)

No card making for me this weekend yet as I have been sorting out the new craft room. Finally the move is over and more storage has arrived so have spent the weekend organising (although I am sure I will still be moving things around!). Most of the units are from Ikea but the table is actually a dining room table I picked up from Tesco in the sale....should have been £250 and I got it for £47. It fits perfectly and some shelves from ikea fit perfectly on the side on top of it, it stills leave me space to work. One of the units from ikea we have put on wheels and it homes my cameo so can wheel that across whenever I need it. Just need to sort out my wireless printer and I am sorted. Hoping to make a few cards later today but depends if Jennifer will sleep!

There are some cards from earlier on this week.

Spellbinders

I'm not sure I like this card yet! I love the colours, dies and stamping on the card but I don't like the flowers which I have stuck down! Was trying to keep the card flat for postage reasons but think it needs more 3D flowers. May have to unstick this and alter!

Have a wonderful Christmas

I'm back! After what seems like a very long 2 month break to move house and have a baby I have made it back into my craft room (all brand new!). Will upload some photos soon when I have finally finished unpacking - just waiting on some more shelves!

So I thought I mark my return with as Christmas card. I have used an owl stamp from willow designs (which I got from the NEC last Nov). I then coloured with my spectrum noirs (TN1-6, TB4-6 and IB1). I used IB1 to outline round the whole image. I then used a personal impressions stamp for the sentiment. I created the ice rink with some glossy accents and some diamond sparkles from hunkydory. I mounted on some blue card and then onto a white 6x6. Inside the card I stamped the owl again in grey to carry the theme through.

Grandads birthday present

Have really got into using shadow box frames recently. Here is the latest edition.........

My Grandad loves his garden so thought the theme was apt. I used a combination of inkylicious stamps and indigoblu stamps with distress markers.

I started with plain white watercolour card and then used a variety of distress inks to build up the picture, mainly rusty hinge, antique linen, vintage photo, scattered straw and brushed corduroy.

Another Lakehouse!

I have been crafting but not put anything up for a while so I'm uploading some of the back log today!

This is the Kaisercraft stamp again but this time using the broken china, tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks to colour in. Love these colours!

Summer Challenge - Spectrum Noir

I made this card for couple of reasons, 1 for my Grandads birthday and 2 for the spectrum noir summer challenge.

I used a Michael Powell Harbourside stamp from Docrafts and my spectrum noirs.

I used the following colours:
Sand - CT1 and CT3
Wall - GB10 and EB7
Boats - TB1, TB4 and TB6
Sea - JG1 and BT3
Buidings - IB1/2, HB1/2, TN1/2 and IG1/2
Grass - DG2, 3 and 4.
Sky - GG1

I then mounted the image on dark blue card and stamped with love at the bottom (from the simply said sentiments collection at inkylicious).

The Lake House - Kaisercraft

A while back I watched Mel Heaton on create and craft with these papers and stamps but didn't buy them. A few weeks later temptation set in and I purchased them! I wanted to make a card for my mum so pulled them out.
I started with a dark green 8x8 card blank and selected a paper from the first edition up and away pink pad (the stripey one). I went round the edges with Tim Holtz Peacock distress ink pad and the floral border from the lake house stamp set. I mounted this on the card and then selected one of the kaisercraft papers. I used the petal pink liquid pearls to highlight key points on the roses. I left this to dry.
For the main image I then stamped the water fountain onto watercolour paper with black archival. I then used my distress markers to colour in the image. The centre of the flowers is using the petal pink liquid pearls again!. I took the floral border and stamped round the edge of the card. I then mounted this on a pink background (also stampled) and then a grey back ground. This was then attached to the card. Using the lake house transfer sheet I then added the swallow and some additional flowers.

To create the mother sentiment I also took this from the transfer sheet and mounted on pink and grey with use of the floral border again. To complete the card I used teal silk crush ribbon (which I got from creative studios) to create a bow.
After all this I decided not to keep as a card and placed into a white shadowbox frame from Ikea (approx £5) and it will then be a keep sake.

Wedding Gift

Been a while since I've uploaded a project, have got a few on the go but have been too busy to upload. This is a present I made for a good friend of mine for her wedding day.

This is a shadow box frame I picked up from ikea for about £5. I then cut out the shapes using the Silhouette Cameo. As my friend is from the UK and her partner is from France I used maps of the places where they have come from and mounted the male and female onto a canvas from the local craft shop. I dyed the maps using an olive green dew drop ink. I painted the Ikea insert with grey acrylic and then put it all together. The 'love' text is also from the Silhouette store.

Crafters Companion April Challenge

Again another 8x8 card, I can't seem to get away from them!

This time I have used:
Sheena Douglas - A little bit sketchy - Iris
Ranger Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearl
Clear Shrink Plastic
First Edition - Spring Feast 12x12 paper pad
Spectrum Noir Pens - LV1,LV2, LV3, DG1, DG2, DG3, CT4, OR3, TB9

I started by covering the card in the spring feast paper and applying liquid pearls around the swirls. I then stamped the large Iris and coloured in. I used spellbinders to matt the image on some darker card stock.
For the embellishment in the right hand corner I stamped the large Iris onto clear shrink plastic, coloured with promarkers then heated with my heat tool. To complete the card I stuck it all together and then stamped out the small iris, coloured and cut out and added to complete the card.

The large iris in more detail.

The shrink plastic iris.

Bright butterfly

This is something very different for me! A bright pink butterfly card. Not sure still if I like it but something slightly different.

Kanban Cake

Not the clearest of pictures but hopefully you will get the idea. This is a Kanban inspired card using their British kit and cake! Put together a simple stepper card with acetate and layered up the cakes inside.

Just for You

The recent snow has inspired me to make a few Christmas cards, most have followed this style but changed the name on them. Some promarkers, a hunkydory stamp and 'that' embossing folder!

Easter Challenge

This card has been made from some plain card stock I had. The 8x8 card blank is ivory and I have stamped on it with 2 small daisy stamps from Kanban Crafts Ltd. The image comes from a hunkydory stamp set and then I have coloured it with watercolour pencils. Some small gems have been added to brighten it up.

I would like to enter this card into:

8x8 Cards

A quick clean and simple anniversary card for some family members.

A birthday card for my niece who just loves cake!

further old cards.....

This one is a lovely little lighthouse stamp from Kanban with the use of lots of distressing inks. My grandad loved it as his birthday card!

This card came about through trial and error. The flower is made with some greaseproof paper (from tesco) with added embossing powder and scrunching. Who knew greaseproof paper would work for embossing!

Old Cards...

An old card made from an Indigoblu stamp and some papers and distress inks.

This card is made from a free fizzy moon stamp and a variety of papers I had in my craft room.
